Welcome to Fillmore Central!

On behalf of the Board of Education, our staff, and myself, I’d like to welcome everyone to Fillmore Central. We strive to provide an outstanding educational system that you can be proud of. We are ready to serve you and your family.
Our Pre-K through Grade 12 system is prepared to support families and to serve your children’s needs. The School Age Care, School Readiness, Day Care, Early Childhood Family Education, Early Childhood Special Education, and Headstart staff all are here to work with our youngest students. This “One Block At a Time” category of services provide before and after school care for school age children, year round day care for infants through school age, family learning and social opportunities, as well as support for special needs students birth through 6 years of age. Call the school office for more information on these programs.

The K-6 facilities in Preston offer a solid learning experience with both remedial and enrichment opportunities for students. Fillmore Central offers a full slate of academics taught by highly qualified staff. We recently received our Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment scores and Fillmore Central has once again made Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) required by the state, as well as the federal, program No Child Left Behind. All students in grades kindergarten through 4th grade are issued an iPad and students in grades 5 and 6 are issued a Chromebook to enhance their learning opportunities.
In Harmony our 7-12 building continues to prepare students for the real-world that they will soon enter. Our strong academic class offerings, a wide range of extra-curricular activities, and dedicated staff make the high school years a great environment for our students. Our students receive training in math, science, technology, English, and the Social Sciences to prepare them for life in the global society we live in. We also have a strong vocational program to assist students in making the transition to employment in our world. Every student in grades 7- 8 are issued a Chromebook and students in grades 9 – 12 are issued a personal Macintosh Air laptop to be used as a tool to enhance their learning experience.
This year we have several new staff members who are excited to join the veteran staff on our Fillmore Central team. I know they will make a positive impact on our students’ education. Their enthusiasm and talents will only add to our success with students.
We invite and need the cooperation and involvement of our parents and communities to provide the best all around education for our students. So please stay involved in your children’s lives, support them in their interests, and encourage them to take on the challenges ahead. Our students deserve our continued support and guidance to help them be and do their best.
I look forward to serving our communities as a part of our educational team at Fillmore Central. Fillmore Central has a legacy of strong cooperation and teamwork between families and school. Our faculty, staff, and administration are ready to serve you.
If you have any questions in regard to the district educational program(s), please feel free to inquire at the school district office (507-765-3845). Have a great school year!
